J.Naomi Johnson is a Blogger, Vlogger and screenwriter. J.Naomi is a Denver, CO native who holds a BA in Communication and minor in Theater from Metro Sate University of Denver. Nay has always had a passion for writing, culture/travel and the arts. Naomi has had various screenwriting opportunities including:2008 ABFF Nickelodeon Writers Lab Participant, 2007 OBS Screenwriter Competition Semi- Finalist, 2007 Hollywood Black Film Festival Storyteller Competition. With the help of a good friend Director Jarrod Austin she wrote Seven Minutes Rush which won 8th Urban Mediamakers Film Festival Best Shortie Short Film award. In 2011 Nay directed a short play entitled "Blue in the Face" by Kayla Cagan for the MSCD Student Directing Projects. Nay's goals are to change the world and create a vehicle for Black Women to gain power and grow closer. In 2013 after losing her father she decided to move forward with this and create the Coily Culture Blog and Youtube videos. Currently she lives in Atlanta and frequents Denver from time to time. All of her writing, including her blogs and screenwriting, are geared toward the success and advancement of Black Women. Nay uses the Coily Culture blog, YouTube, and social media to do just that. Believing that whats beautiful and good about this world is found inside all of us!
